Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or haddock)
  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Boil the fish fillets in water with a pinch of salt until they are cooked through. Drain the water and let the fish cool down.
  2. Once cooled, flake the fish using a fork or your fingers, removing any bones.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked fish with the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, minced garlic, grated ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a cutlet or patty. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  5. Dip each cutlet into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is coated on all sides.
  6. Roll the cutlets in bread crumbs until they are evenly coated, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the cutlets in the pan, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
